I had a great experience living at The Leather Works. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished, and the location is perfect for students. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they are always willing to go the extra mile. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to other students.

The staff's warm hospitality and helpful recommendations added a personal touch, making us feel right at home. The modern and stylish design of the accommodation perfectly complemented the historical charm of the surrounding area. The attention to detail and impeccable cleanliness made for a truly comfortable and enjoyable stay. Can't wait to stay in the Leather works accommodation for another year.

The overall experience was a very pleasant one with this accommodation. Whilst there a few minor hiccups throughout the year, the introduction of the lounge, the organised events, and nicely furbished rooms means it's a good student accommodation. The kitchen facilities are good quality and I'm sure that once the accommodation is fully renovated, it will be a very pleasant environment for students!

Overall: Writing this review after staying at the Leather Works for 10 months. If you're looking for an en-suite room without the frills but within a decent budget, and don't mind walking a 20 min walk to Univ of Leeds campus , The Leather Works is a decent place to stay. It's in a safe area, and quite close to nature (you can sometimes hear the bleating of sheep from the farm behind the building). See below for more details/caveats. Management: The management team is really friendly. Rich and Emily are great, approachable, and responsive to any issues you might have. Recently they've been hosting a few events too but I haven't been able to attend. I think there were quite a few teething problems initially in the past year, but those have mostly been settled now (e.g., the fire alarms went off allllllll the time in the first six months)! There is no 24-h on-site security though so after working hours it can be a bit lonely but haven't had any issues so far. Building/Room: Pros- The building is pretty and used to be an old leather tannery (it has its own blue plaque). It's a nice cozy set up and comfortable, it has a great bed! It was cold during winter and while there was a heater, I didn't find it too helpful tbh, so just be prepared to layer up and have more blankets etc. I love the bathroom shower and the hot water is immediate and shower pressure is awesome. But yeah, the sink is so tiny it's almost comical. Cons- Walls are very thin, and if you have the misfortune of having a loud and obnoxious flatmate with different waking hours from you, sleep may not come easy. Shared kitchen: Kitchens are shared between 6 rooms, and I think a lot of it depend on the luck of the draw of your flatmates, if they are considerate and willing to keep the space clean. The fridge space isn't too great (you each get one shelf) but the hob, dishwasher etc. is great, and the dining table is nice and can fit 6 people easily/comfortably if you're having people over. There is also a large flatscreen TV in the kitchen. Other amenities: When we moved in last year, they were still renovating/constructing most of the other blocks, but there is now a nice common room with a pool table and games area.
