I highly recommend Calico to everyone. Every staff at the reception desk is very enthusiastic and professional. Questions will be answered promptly and patiently. Many of my friends live here. The apartment has great entertainment facilities, a gym, reasonable room layout, large toilets, wide views, good sound insulation, and convenient services. If I return to Liverpool, I still choose to live here again！

The best accommodation in Liverpool and the most friendly and lovely team ever, reception and maintenance are both helpful and patient. Studio room is perfect for 1, and the study space in the room is big enough for 2 too. Moreover, there is cosy and quiet space for tenants to study at the ground floor and you can also have private room to have meeting with your study group, gym and other entertainment facilities are provided as well. Btw, the location of Calico is perfect, only 1 minute walking to Tesco express, Homebargians, Lidl and the Chinese store Sida, 5 minutes walking to the Liverpool train station, and of course it is close to city centre too, most importantly it takes only 5 to 10 minutes to walk from university to Calico. I would definitely keep living in Calico till I finish my study if I could spend more time in Liverpool.

The Calico has been the loveliest place to live in during my master’s. The studios are nice and spacious and have a double desk which was amazing for my boyfriend and I, as we were able to have our own workspaces without feeling claustrophobic. There’s also plenty of storage space if you have a lot of clothes and bits-and-bobs like me! The location is really ideal for LJMU students as the Byrom Street campus is literally a 5-minute walk away and you’re also right next Lidl and Tesco for those last-minute food shops! The gym and social spaces are really well thought out (the décor is modern but homely!) and makes hanging out with friends a lot more fun and easier if you don’t have space in your room or studio for guests. The Calico Team have been amazing throughout the entire year and work so hard to make everyone feel happy and comfortable. They are like a little family and you do feel like a part of it when you live here! Even during the pandemic, the team always put the students first and ensured that we were all safe and healthy whilst the incredible cleaning staff kept the buildings spotless. Overall, a really warm and welcoming place with the nicest and most caring team supporting you throughout your stay. I’m so pleased that my last year of studies was spent living in the best student accommodation and I just wish that I could stay another year as it truly felt like a home away from home. Thank you Calico! :)

Throughout my three years of undergrad I’ve been in student accommodations that have definitely done the job, but the Calico has genuinely been the best of the bunch by far and absolutely perfect for doing my master’s degree. I was sharing a 5th floor platinum studio with my girlfriend and our experience has been pretty much impeccable. Yes, the building was delivered late (a bit frustrating) but it was through no fault of the accommodation staff and they went above and beyond to make sure that everyone was sorted out. Ever since we did move in, I don’t think I have one complaint. There’s more than enough desk space, storage, and a massive bathroom. The Wi-Fi has been great, we’ve had an amazing view from our window across to the sea, and even throughout lock-down I never felt cramped. The location is great too. You can get pretty much anywhere you care about in 10 mins and there’s a massive car park next to the building so that you can actually move in, unlike in some other accommodations where you might have to pull to the side of the road a few streets away because they don’t have a car park. If we’ve ever needed anything the staff have been great, and I mean properly great. Very welcoming, genuinely caring, and if you have an issue it gets solved way faster than in other places I’ve been. There’s more than enough washers and dryers (an entire laundry room in each block), great places to do some studying or play pool or Xbox, and the sky lounge is a massive perk and the views are stunning. The building is always clean and tidy, and especially during COVID the cleaning staff have kept everything to a way better standard than I’ve seen anywhere else. Overall, by far the best experience I’ve had in a student accommodation and I’m definitely sad to go!
