Britannia Cancellation Policy

Year-Round Halls of Residence

• Cancellation, postponement, or curtailment within 4 weeks of arrival will incur a charge equivalent to 4 weeks' rent plus the booking fee.
  
  

Summer Halls of Residence

• Cancellation, postponement, or curtailment within 4 weeks of arrival will incur a charge of 4 weeks' rent or the full stay cost for shorter bookings.
  
  

Apartments/House Shares

• Cancellation, postponement, or curtailment within 4 weeks of arrival will incur a charge of 4 weeks' rent plus the booking fee.
  
  

Homestays

• Cancellations received less than 1 week before arrival will incur a charge of 1 week’s rent plus the booking fee.
  
  

COVID-19 Cancellation Exception

Until further notice, a full refund will be issued if cancellation is due to:

• A government-imposed travel ban prevents arrival in the UK.

• The cancellation of a course of study or internship that was booked for a substantial period (more than 70% of the accommodation stay).

• A course of study/internship is being changed to online-only, making in-person attendance impossible.

Note:
 No refund will be provided if you simply choose not to travel when in-person and online study options are available.

No-Show or Curtailment After Arrival

• Year-Round Halls of Residence: No refunds will be issued once accommodation charges are paid.

• Summer Halls of Residence: No-show or early departure will incur a 4-week charge or the full stay cost for shorter bookings.

• Apartments/House Shares: No refunds once accommodation charges are paid.

• Homestays: No refunds for no-shows.
  
  

  • If you cut short your stay within the first 4 weeks, no refund will be given.

  • After 4 weeks, you may shorten your booking with at least 1 week's notice.

If your accommodation is unsuitable, Britannia will attempt to offer a suitable alternative.

Deposits and Fees

• A non-refundable booking fee of £25 applies to all bookings.

• A refundable deposit applies for:

  • Year-round halls of residence, apartments, and house shares:

    • £250 for stays paid fully in advance.

    • Deposit equivalent to 4 weeks' rent for stays paid in instalments.
      
      

• No deposit is required for homestays or summer halls.

Additional Homestay Supplements:

• Private bathroom: £30 per week (subject to availability).

• Special diet: £15 per person per week.

• Christmas period booking (24/12–01/01): £35 one-off supplement.

• Summer supplement (June, July, August): £25 per person per week.
  
  

Refunds and Bank Charges

• Refunds will be made only via the original payment method, due to UK money laundering laws.

• Bank transfers will be refunded to the originating account.

• Credit card payments must be refunded through the Flywire online portal.

• Cash payments can only be refunded to a bank account in the guest’s name.

• Britannia is not responsible for any bank charges incurred during the refund process; these will be deducted from the refund amount by the banks.

The above cancellation policy is a synopsis of the property’s cancellation policy. There could be a few changes incorporated from time to time. Hence, we recommend you review the full Accommodation Contract for a comprehensive understanding of their cancellation policies.

- Any booking of 13 weeks or less will need to be paid upfront. 

- Bookings over 13 weeks are eligible to be paid in instalments.
