First of all I’d like to say that I already rebooked for next year because I am currently enjoying my stay here and the location is too good to move anywhere else even if it’s for friends, proximity to university or just for the change by booking at another accommodation. It’s a new accommodation so much so that as I’m writing this the satellite image is still a construction site and I *think* I am one of the first people staying here. This should tell you that new accoms come with a lot of problems and faults. Pros and cons: Pros: * Location is amazing. 2 minute walk to the Victoria Centre and every bus stop is roughly 5 minutes away. * The staff are extremely helpful. Especially Sarah, she is always the reception and will try and help you if something is wrong or just answer any questions you have and get things sorted. If something is broken or needs to be replaced Paul is always there to help. They never make you wait, will do absolutely the best they can. * Nice big common room. When you don’t want to bring your friends or other people to your room you can always hang out in the common room. It’s mostly quite and very comfortable to just chill, sit around, chat or even eat! * The rooms where the trash cans are - this will sound weird but most accoms have a lot of problems with it - super accessible. Never smells weird because trash is frequently taken out. * No elevators and this is a good thing because every block is two floors max. So even for able-bodied people you never have to wait for the elevator, climb a bunch of stairs if the elevator breaks down (this happens a lot in other accoms). * It is frequently cleaned. * The rooms and kitchens are well equipped. Cons: * We are constantly out of warm water and take freezing showers. * The security is very weak. Almost anyone can get in and they need to work on that because we had so many intruders before messing up the common place, throwing eggs at flats’ windows before Halloween. * We had a poop puddle accident in September. It took them a while to fix it and it smelled vile. * The cleaning isn’t the best. * Laundry rooms only have a couple of machines and you may wait long hours to finally wash your stuff. * The gym advertised is smaller than my whole flat combined. * The kitchen (if you are living in a 2-bed apartment) is too small to accommodate two people at the same time + a MINI FRIDGE for two people is absolutely unacceptable. I have to think and cut back on the things I buy when I go grocery shopping because it won’t fit in the fridge. * The bathrooms (unless you are in a studio) are what my flatmate calls a “cubicle”. Unless you like multi-functioning as you can wash your hair, defecate and wash your hands at the same time, it isn’t very ideal.
