Firstly I’m 30 years old and didn’t feel out of place staying here. The rooms are clean, simple and well maintained. They have everything you need although come unfurnished (like all student accommodation in Southampton). There is a decent gym, cinema room and games area with good sized study rooms. The staff is what makes this place so great though. Carlos on the night shift is always up for a philosophical chat at 1 in the morning. Jaz and Bethanie are literally the nicest people in the world (except Peter) and Karen the cleaner is the least “Karen” Karen I’ve ever met.

Highly recommended living space with great staff. A lot of help from front desk staff named Carlos upon my arrival.

Have just rebooked for my fourth year at Vita Richmond House. There have, of course, been issues over the time as you would expect at any student accommodation. But what has struck me particularly recently is the genuine desire of all the staff who work here to put any problems right and make residents happy. Jas and Bethanie as managers work tirelessly as well as Tim in maintenance; Piotr, Michelle and Nadia as daytime reception staff; and Diogo, Carlos and Sara as night staff. Plus, of course, Jolie as the lettings representative to help with (re-)booking. There is also an amazing team of housekeepers (Anna, Alessandra and Karen) who keep your room sparkling clean every 2 weeks. The city centre location is extremely convenient and is close to the main shopping district (West Quay), a whole host of restaurants (Oxford Street) and the marina (Ocean Village). For those of us with cars, there's a huge car park outside for which you can buy a parking permit from the Council for a reasonable amount (£725p/a). There is a nice mix of both Solent and Uni of Southampton students, although it is particularly ideal for Solent given the proximity. Despite being a Uni of student, I prefer Richmond House due to its city location and comfortable feel. I wholeheartedly recommend Vita Richmond House to any student looking for a friendly, hassle-free student residence during your time at uni. Finally, I have been reassured to see the lengths taken to be as COVID-secure as possible. The residence has all aspects covered from cleaning to isolation measures in place etc
