Posting this as a parent of a student who stayed at Coppergate and as such, this is a review more of the attributes of Dan and Nina than the premises. The facilities at Coppergate were good; the kitchen was well furnished and spacious and the living quarters functional, but as I didn't stay there I cannot comment on how life there was. However, as a parent of a child moving out for the first time, I can only say that Dan and Nina were godsends for us. Always available, always friendly and always accommodating irrespective to how trivial the matter would be. Dan and Nina were also able to be close enough to the students, for them to confide in them where they may have had troubles, but were also firm enough so that the students respected and adhered to their instructions. For their guardianship and their friendship, I would rate Dan and Nina very highly and would recommend them to any parent sending their child to Swansea. One negative though, for the owners of Coppergate, was that they should have offered some form of refund to the students who were not able to use the facilities during the pandemic. Expecting the students to cover their lost costs was a draconian move on their part.
